University of Gour Banga (UGB), established in February 2008, is presently a priceless asset in the district of Malda in the northern part of West Bengal, formerly known as Gour which had seen great and rich days of heritage, historic glory and mounted culture, besides, its brilliant educational fountains. On the way of its too early stage growing up phase, two remarkable achievements, 12B and first NAAC (in 2016) affiliations have been bagged by putting enormous efforts, focused devotion and grabbing talent and love of the UGB-family. Presently, it is running with several architectural foundations which include administrative periphery, central library and academics comprised of nine Science, twelve Arts & Humanity and a Commerce discipline and a few necessary ongoing constructions for the greater benefit of the students.

The university has gone through multiple challenging auspicious objectives and it has come across unexpected hardships in its progressive runway. The special importance and devoted untiring efforts are committed to impart towards the teaching-learning and potential research in conjunction with the friendly and fruitful administrative networking for the proper upliftment of UGB.

The common people of the society and the parents/guardians of the students should stay one step ahead to stand beside their asset UGB to protect and promote it. In order to provide the completeness of the laboratory and research atmosphere, the authority has found its emergent missions and planned to trigger the foundation of technical supports such as glassware, electrical and mechanical workshops, in addition to in-campus necessary architectural fulfilment.

The authority will encourage and guide the students to have their spirit of curiosity, thoughtful minds, deep attraction to music/sports etc. and natural love for humanity/society.

The authority would pay valued attention to enrich the departments with worth and talented faculties.

It's a pleasure of the authority to shower a hearty welcome to the sincere and passionate learners to conquer the fear and acquire the confidence, leading them to fulfil their dreams to be the person of value in the society and to place the UGB at the profound level of excellence as well.

Well, if we quest for a proper concept of education, we would like to address - 'Imagination is the mother of all invention' - Sir Isaac Newton and likewise, " Imagination is more important than knowledge' - Professor Albert Einstein. Let's pray to almighty and hold an imagination for the creation of an illumined state in the entire world, in words of Gurudev R. N. Tagore "Aalo Aamar Aalo Ogoo Aalo Bhuban Bhara".
